A woman has been praised for turning her three-bedroom house into a dream home on just a £10,000 budget. The DIY enthusiast, who is known on social media as @homenumber_3, shared how she bought a three-bedroom detached property on her own 18 months ago - and has been hard at work renovating it ever since.
With a £43,000 deposit, she has managed to turn the £187,000 property into a pretty and peaceful place to live with her money-saving tactics. Not only that but she has also shown her TikTok viewers how transform a space using 'things you shouldn't use', saying it worked wonders for her. In a video, she showed viewers before and after videos of her home, with many commenting on the fact she has wrapped her kitchen.
While some people agree wrapping a kitchen is an a low-cost method to transform your space, others say it's more hassle than it's worse as it can leave your kitchen cabinets and worktops "peeling, bubbling, or fading" as the years go on.

Commenting on her post, one user said: "The kitchen wrapped? Can you explain to me like I'm five what a wrapped kitchen is?"
In response, another user said: "They use material like vinyl which can be durable and easy to wipe clean. Basically is wrapped over existing units to save money replacing the whole thing."
One more said: "You can buy vinyl wrap, from SP Vinyl Supplies or Vinyl Warehouse. Essentially if you have a wooden kitchen you can wrap it so it looks marble, or if you have a grey kitchen you can wrap it so it looks green."
She says the kitchen wrap only set her back £720 - which is considerably less than she would have had to spend on new worktops and cabinets.
While others commented on her DIY achievements, saying: "You should be so proud of yourself, girl. In this economy? It's a major flex.
"More so that you've clearly done most of the décor it was needing on your own, with what I can only assume is a broken arm? Congrats."
Another user added: "Really, a very big well done. I work in building sector and have to say good for you wishing you all the continued success.
"Forget some of sarky negative comments they are all jealous types - happy renovation."
Another user said: "No idea about DIY but dam sure you have done a good job. It takes years to perfect a house alone on your own. It's hard work but you get there and just believe in yourself."
While a final person said: "You’re a woman on a mission and no stopping you now. The garage could do with a glow up inside."
